Things You Should Not Do After You Get A Hair Transplantation
Although, hair transplantation is a one day process, it is still a surgery based treatment whereby the doctors make small incisions on your scalp. Using this procedure, the hair roots are transferred from the donor area to the recipient area and you get a lush hair growth after a few months. However, in order to have the best results we will need to go through a proper recovery period. After you get hair transplant in London there are certain things you should not do:
1.
Sleeping
on your head
Most people
love to sleep flat resting their head on the pillows, however if you get hair
transplantation treatment, it is important that you never sleep keeping your
head in pressure. It will add weight to your scalp and the blood will rush
towards the incisions that have been made during the procedure. The scalp will
swell up and you may also experience a sensation of pain. So you need to
make sure that you do not sleep flat during the recovery period.
2.
Do
not apply ice directly
The doctors
will recommend you to keep applying small balls of ice on your scalp for at
least three days. Ice works miraculously
on swellings and painful areas because they help in distributing the blood flow
in your head swellings. Therefore, you will not suffer from extreme swellings
and also so your scalp won't become itchy. However, you should use wet tissue
to cover the eyes and then apply gently on your scalp.
If you have
done FUE hair transplant, you will also
need to abstain from all your bad habits like smoking or drinking because it
can extend your recovery period. It can affect the blood supply in your scalp
which can cause you nauseating pain. If you are addicted to nicotine, you can
use nicotine gum for at least a week so that you can abstain from this bad
habit.
